Eligibility Requirements in Mexico

Gallagher Scholar candidates are citizens of Mexico who reflect academic achievement and evidence of leadership potential. Race, gender, and religion are not considered as factors in scholarship selection.

Individuals selected as candidates for the Gallagher Scholarship meet the following criteria:

VALUES

A Gallagher Scholar candidate shows evidence of a high level of ethical values, which include:

  • Belief that progress can be achieved without violence 
  • Commitment to making a difference in their country
  • Traits which align with the Gallagher Foundation Traits of Distinguished Leaders

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Gallagher Scholar candidates possess and show evidence of unusual intelligence and ability.

  • Minimum GPA: 95
  • Minimum PAA: 1400

Gallagher Scholar candidates must be admitted to ITESM - Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey within a professional degree program with a maximum duration of 8 semesters.

LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Gallagher Scholar candidates display evidence of leadership determination and potential through their involvement in leadership activities including, but not limited to:

  • Special projects
  • Awards received
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Service work

FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS

Gallagher Scholar candidates come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds displaying evidence of financial need.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

This application includes four short essay questions and requires the following document uploads:

  • Letter of Reference
  • Copy of Official High School Transcript
  • Proof of Testing Scores
  • Proof of Income or Copies of Paychecks

Application Timeline

To apply for the Gallagher Foundation scholarship:

  1. Complete the application to Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus: https://solicitud.tec.mx/.  You must meet the minimum requirements (GPA of at least 95 and PAA of 1400 or higher) and be admitted to Tec to be considered for the Gallagher Foundation scholarship.

  2. Complete the application process for socioeconomic support to the Monterrey Campus. Contact fondosext.mty@servicios.itesm.mx to begin the socioeconomic study process.

  3. Complete the application for the Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship for Campus Monterrey: http://lideresdelmanana.itesm.mx/

  4. Contact Ana Fabiola Ramos at fondosext.mty@servicios.itesm.mx with a request to be considered for the Gallagher Foundation Scholarship.  If you meet all of the qualifications, you will receive a link to the Gallagher Foundation scholarship application to complete.

Listed below is the Gallagher Foundation’s planned timeline for the 2024-25 application cycle.  If changes to the timeline occur, updates will be provided here.  

  • September 2024 - Tec application and Leaders of Tomorrow application open

  • December 1, 2024 - Gallagher Foundation Application opens

  • March 24, 2025 - Gallagher Foundation Application closes

  • May 10, 2025 - Applicants are informed of their status in the next phase of the Gallagher Foundation selection process

  • May 15-17, 2025 - Final Gallagher Foundation candidates interviewed

  • May 23, 2025 - Applicants are informed of final selection of Gallagher Scholars
